The Ruby Slipper Soiree is a unique event created by the Mid-Cities Theta Alumnae Chapter in 2011 benefitting CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Tarrant County.

An unforgettable evening unites women to enjoy great food and wine and a fabulous shoe and accessories fashion show, while raising money and awareness for a wonderful cause. Guests are encouraged to wear "ruby slippers" (red shoes) for an extra chance to win a prize and to remind everyone that "there's no place like home" as they support CASA's mission of securing a safe, loving home for abused and neglected children in Tarrant County.

The Mid-Cities Theta Alumnae Chapter has raised more than $71,000 to date for CASA of Tarrant County!
The 2018 SOLD OUT Ruby Slipper Soiree was held on Thursday, February 1, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at The Marq in Southlake. We were honored to have four returning style partners featured in our shoe and accessory style show including Brighton, Elaine Turner, Kendra Scott and Premier Designs.   Our models were a lovely group of TCU Theta actives.

In addition, Brighton, Elaine Turner, Kendra Scott and Premier Designs offered a selection of their latest designs for sale at the event and donated 20% back of sales to CASA.  Attendees were able to get some early Valentine's Day shopping done while helping a great cause

Ruby Slipper Soiree guests were served a delicious array of appetizers prepared by award-winning Chef Charles Youts from The Classic at Roanoke along with red and white wines and a signature "Ruby Slipper" cocktail.  Candy Signature Cocktails also sampled her "Candy Cane"

Our "Spirits & Sparkle Pull," a popular feature of the event, sold out in 30 minutes and lucky participants bought a chance to win either a bottle of Candy's Signature Cocktails or wine AND a select piece of jewelry from Elaine Turner, Kendra Scott or Premier Designs.  We offered an outstanding array of raffle prizes, including gifts from Elaine Turner, Kendra Scott and Premier Designs as well as an amazing gift basket from Presenting Sponsor Cosmetic & Family Dentistry of North Texas. Guests wearing red shoes to the event received a free raffle ticket.

Most important, we couldn't have put on such a remarkable event without the support of our sponsors! Our presenting sponsor and major underwriter of the event was Cosmetic & Family Dentistry of North Texas! A big thank you to Dr. Jean Tuggey and her team!

Additional generous sponsors included our silver sponsor, Spirit of Texas Bank and the Crawford Family and our bronze sponsors, Dana McGuffin CPA, Texas Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists, Leslie Barrows - principal attorney with The Barrows Firm, Jeremy Bravo - realtor with Briggs-Freeman-Sotheby’s Southlake, Trip Buchwald with State Farm Insurance Colleyville, Giana Ortiz - attorney with The Ortiz Law Firm, 2Q Salon, Northeast Tarrant Dermatology, Carol White, Fly Kids Yogo and Paint by Tails Pet Portraits by Julie Grim.

Our media sponsors were NBC-DFW, Society Life Magazine and Living Magazine.

It was an unforgettable evening of fun benefiting a great cause!
Thanks to all who attended for helping us raise awareness of CASA and, with the help of our sponsors, to donate all proceeds from the event to CASA. Through CASA programs and their trained volunteers, abused and neglected children are offered the security of a safe and loving home and a brighter future. We want to help these children learn “there’s no place like home!”
