TCU Theta actives model shoes and accessories at the Ruby Slipper Soiree benefiting CASA of Tarrant County.

Ruby Slipper Soiree

The Ruby Slipper Soiree is a unique event created by the Mid-Cities Theta Alumnae Chapter in 2011 benefitting CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Tarrant County.  To date, Mid-Cities Thetas have raised more than $71,000 for CASA of Tarrant County!

The benefit is an unforgettable evening with great food and wine and a fabulous shoe and accessories fashion show. Guests are encouraged to wear "ruby slippers" (red shoes) for an extra chance to win a prize and to remind everyone that "there's no place like home" as they support CASA's mission of securing a safe, loving home for abused and neglected children in Tarrant County.

The 2020 Ruby Slipper Soiree was held at The Marq in Southlake. We were honored to have four amazing style partners featured in our shoe and accessory style show including Kendra Scott, Malouf's, Premier Designs and Stanley Eisenman. A fifth style partner Draper James, outfitted the models for a sneak peek at their latest styles.  Our models were a lovely group of TCU Theta actives.

In addition, Draper James, Kendra Scott, Malouf's and Stanley Eisenman offered a selection of their latest designs for sale at the event and donated 20% back of sales to CASA.  Attendees were able to get some early Spring shopping done while helping a great cause

Ruby Slipper Soiree guests were served a delicious array of appetizers prepared by award-winning Chef Charles Youts from The Classic at Roanoke along with red and white winesand and tequila tastings from Tequila Sheela.

Our "Spirits & Sparkle Pull," a popular feature of the event, sold out again this year and lucky participants bought a chance to win either a bottle of Candy's Signature Cocktails, Tequila Sheela or wine AND a select piece of jewelry from Kendra Scott, Malouf's or Premier Designs.  We offered an outstanding array of raffle prizes, including gifts from Draper James, Kendra Scott, Malouf's, Premier Designs and Stanley Eisenman as well as an amazing gift basket from Presenting Sponsor Cosmetic & Family Dentistry of North Texas. Guests wearing red shoes to the event received a free raffle ticket.

Most important, we couldn't have put on such a remarkable event without the support of our sponsors!

It was an unforgettable evening of fun benefiting a great cause!  Thanks to all who attended for helping us raise awareness of CASA and, with the help of our sponsors, to donate all proceeds from the event to CASA. Through CASA programs and their trained volunteers, abused and neglected children are offered the security of a safe and loving home and a brighter future. We want to help these children learn “there’s no place like home!”
